IV and V.

I mean, there are parts of the other movies that are great, but as a whole the quality is poor. IV and V are the only movies that I can say are great from start to finish. I've come to the realization that I really like Star Wars only as a universe and I like very few of the individual canon movies.

The funny thing is Great Bay Temple is one of my favorite dungeons in the series, and it's mainly because it is pretty brutal. I remember feeling so satisfied when I beat it for the first time as a kid. I completely understand why people don't like it though. It's honestly harder than OoT's Water Temple.

Episode 6:

Pretty exciting episode. I enjoyed seeing the Mandalorian just go full Batman and take out everyone in the shadows. I'm kind of worried that it's getting too easy, it feels like he needs a big loss soon to balance out all the times he comes out ahead, but I also get the feeling like the mercenaries he locked away will come back sometime so maybe it's building up to something. Glad to finally see Bill Burr make his appearance.

Don't forget, next week the new episode will premiere on Wednesday because of The Rise of Skywalker.

I mean, after watching James and Mike for a while you can start to tell the difference in what's part of the Angry Nerd persona and what's actually James' own opinion. Some of these later AVGN episodes have just been transplants of content from J&M. The Universal Studios episode is a great example. It really is basically a recap of the J&M episode with only a slight exaggeration to make it fit the AVGN character.

You can see a lot of the similar style of review in this Majora's Mask episode. The line between the Nerd and James seems a lot thinner in this episode than some others. When he says stuff about dreading having to go back to playing it in order to beat it, it's a lot like how he forced himself to beat Metroid even though he was hating it. And a lot of his complaints about the gameplay match up to the problems he has playing lots of games because he's just not that good. And that's one of the reasons I'm critical of it, because this happens a lot on J&M. Situations where he doesn't bother to learn how to play the game correctly, or can't get past a certain challenge because of his own lack of skill, and then blames the game for it. It's really disappointing to watch.

One thing I think about a lot is how good the sound effects in Overwatch are. And I don't mean stuff like the noises guns make or ambient sounds, but the how good they were at making sounds help give aural hints to make things smoother and more enjoyable.

Stuff like how when you get a headshot you hear a satisfying "dink" noise. How, when the objective is being captured, you can hear the sound effect building up as the progress fills to let you know how much time you have until it completes. How you can identify what characters are around without looking at them based on the individual sounds of their footsteps. It's obvious a lot of thought was put into sound effects that many games wouldn't think too much about, and how much it pays off by subtly giving you a lot of information in a very natural way.

The Disney worlds were like the best they've ever been in terms of presentation and appeal. I agree they didn't flow with the rest of the story very well, but like someone else said that only really happened in KH1 otherwise, and it felt like they at least tried to connect them better this time, with Organization members appearing and interacting with the Disney characters more. (The yeetus Vanitas scene is one of my favorite moments in all of KH)

Yeah, that's another thing. It's not just a poor movie, it's really insulting how much it's just a shameless and clumsy attempt to chase the "cinematic universe" money pile. The scene where Wonder Woman sits and watches footage of other DC heroes for no real reason is super dumb. Also that scene where Flash randomly shows up and Batman has a dream that was supposed to set up Justice League wasn't just ridiculously stupid, it now is completely pointless because the plot point it was supposed to unsubtly set up never ended up happening. Stupid, stupid, stupid...

Episode 5 is up.

Overall didn't seem as good as the others. Seeing Tatooine was cool, if bordering on pandering. I really hate the cliche of the newbie guard getting tricked into releasing the prisoner, so the fact that it didn't work was nice, but I still don't think it was a good plot point. Why did that guy think he would have any chance of taking on the Mandalorian by himself if he couldn't do anything else without his help? That's exactly why I hate that cliche, people throw away what they already have in order to try and gain something that they don't have a good chance of getting anyway. It's stupid. Also kind of sucks Ming-Na Wen didn't last very long, but then again maybe the stinger means she's still not dead?
